Dave Asprey - Former Director of Strategic Planning, Exodus Communications, Inc.
Dave is an independent consultant working with technology startups and VCs. He focuses on strategy, product marketing, business development, and IT, with a strong expertise in networking, monitoring & management, security, and performance and availability. In addition to consulting, Dave has been teaching for the University of California at Santa Cruz Extension for almost five years, where he built and managed the Web and Internet Systems Engineering program. Dave recently completed almost five years at Exodus Communications (acquired by Cable & Wireless), where he was Director of Strategic Planning, where he worked extensively with senior executives to develop strategies for entering new markets and was responsible for developing technology strategy, identifying opportunities, and working with business development managers to execute investment, partnering and acquisition transactions. Prior to strategic planning, Dave worked in the Professional Services Group, Dave created web site architectures and built teams to support large-scale, highly redundant, scaleable web sites for e-businesses. Previously, he was with 3Com Corporation as an Internet Architect. He has a BS in Computer Information Systems from California State University and is currently finishing his MBA at Wharton.

Herald Chen - Director, Fox Paine & Company
Herald is a Director at Fox Paine where he works on private equity transactions for their $1.5 billion fund. Previously, Herald served as co-founder and CFO of Jamcracker, Inc., a Cupertino, CA based provider of software-as-a-service IT tools and business applications for medium sized businesses. From 1995-1997, he was an investment professional with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., consummating complex transactions and providing advice to the boards of several large enterprises. Herald begain his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co., focusing on leveraged merger and financing transactions. During the summer of 1998, Herald was Assistant to the CEO of Raychem Corporation. Herald received an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BS in Economics (Finance) from the University of Pennsylvania.

Peter Fortenbaugh - Vice President of Strategic Planning, Exodus Communications, Inc.
As Vice President of Strategic Planning, Peter is responsible for helping set Exodus Communications' strategic direction, including identifying, evaluating and executing growth initiatives. Peter came to Exodus from McKinsey & Company, where he was an engagement manager in the New York office. From 1994 through 1997, he served clients in a variety of industries with emphasis on financial services and health care. Peter received a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Usama Fayyad, Ph.D. - Founder & President, DMX Group
Usama founded the DMX Group to deliver on the vision of making data mining technology work in practice. His career has spanned basic science, data mining applications, database platforms, and foundational algorithms and mathematics in data mining. He is one of the pioneers and founders of the fields of Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Databases. Prior to forming DMX Group, Usama co-founded Revenue Science, which delivers hosted data warehousing and data mining solutions centered around understanding and acting on customer data. Prior to Revenue Science, Usama founded and led the Data Mining & Exploration (DMX) Group at Microsoft Research from 1996 to 2000. His work there included the invention and development of scalable algorithms for mining large databases and customizing them for server products such as Microsoft SQL Server and OLAP Services. From 1989 to 1995, Usama founded and headed the Machine Learning Systems Group at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), California Institute of Technology, leading the development of data mining systems for the analysis of large scientific databases. During that time he received the most distinguished excellence award from Caltech/JPL and a U.S. Government Medal from NASA. Usama received his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (1991) and also holds 2 BSE's in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1984), an MSE in Computer Science and Engineering (1986), and an M.Sc. in Mathematics (1989).

Sandeep Johri - VP of Strategy and Planning, Hewlett-Packard Software Global Business Unit
Sandeep is responsible for HP's Adaptive Management strategy and for M&A and building strategic partnerships for the software unit. Prior to joining HP, he was an Executive-in-Residence at Mayfield Fund, a leading venture capital find in Silicon Valley. Previously, Sandeep founded Oblix, a leading provider of enterprise security infrastructure that offers a comprehensive web access management solution. As the founding CEO, Sandeep defined Oblix's strategic direction and raised $80M in four rounds from leading Silicon Valley investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Patricof Ventures, Van Wagoner Capital, Charter Growth Capital, Cisco, Intel, Novell, CSFB, and JP Morgan. Sandeep recruited a world class management team, built strategic relationships with various technology partners, was instrumental in selling to large enterprise customers, and led 3 major product launches. Prior to Oblix, Sandeep was with Silicon Graphics as staff to Ed McCracken, where he assisted McCracken in his responsibilities as co-chair of President Bill Clinton's Information Infrastructure Advisory Council (NII). Prior to SGI, Johri was a principal with the technology and telecom practice at Gemini Consulting, an international management consulting company. He has an MBA from Stanford University, a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, India.

Evan Kaplan - Co-founder and CEO, Aventail Corporation
Evan co-founded Aventail in February 1996 with a vision to help organizations conduct business over the Internet. Today, Aventail has 13 offices in the United States and Europe and more than 300 enterprise customer accounts, including half of the Fortune 10, reaching more than 300,000 end users. He was named as a 1999 finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Prior to Aventail, Evan worked in marketing at Walker Richer & Quinn, a leading provider of connectivity solutions, and he spearheaded the Business Development and Strategic Relations team efforts as senior program manager for ELDEC, an aerospace company. Evan has a degree in environmental science, a master's in organizational development and consulting, and was the youngest graduate of the executive MBA program at the University of Washington.

Ron Palmeri - Executive Vice President, Product and Corporate Development, Grand Central
Ron leads strategy and market development at Grand Central, an infrastructure service provider unlocking the power of web services over the Internet. Prior to Grand Central, Ron assisted several entrepreneurs in their early stage as an initial investor and advisor. Before that, Ron was vice president of business development for Oblix, a Silicon Valley-based E-business infrastructure software firm named to the UPSIDE Hot 100 private companies in 2000. Ron built key industry alliances, which included Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Novell, Sun/Netscape, Oracle, Siemens and KPMG, and he secured strategic investments from Cisco and Siemens. Prior to his work with Oblix, Palmeri was vice president of strategic relations for Novell where he secured high profile partnerships which were credited with turning around Novell. Ron held other business development and sales positions at Novell as well as NYNEX. Palmeri received his B.A. from Middlebury College and attended Institut d'Etudes Politique in Paris towards that degree.

Jeff Richards - President & CEO, R4 Global Services
Jeff is President and CEO of R4 Global Services, a leading RFID technology services business located in San Francisco, CA. Prior to R4, Jeff was co-founder and an executive at QuantumShift, a technology services business, which he successfully grew from startup to more than $25 million in annual revenue. Investors in QuantumShift included the Mayfield Fund, Pacific Partners and Texas Pacific Group. Richards has been a featured speaker at numerous technology industry conferences, and has been featured in Forbes, Supply Chain Systems magazine, RedHerring and other leading business publications. Prior to QuantumShift, Jeff was a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (now part of IBM), where he led technology and strategy engagements in the U.S. and Asia. Jeff is a director of Peninsula Bridge, a non-profit, advisory board member of Junior Achievement USA, and advisory board member of Pacific Partners, a venture capital firm. Jeff holds an AB from Dartmouth College.

Arvind Sinha - Former Senior Vice President of Internet Strategy, TIBCO Finance Technology Inc./ Reuters
Arvind is an independent consultant providing technology and strategy consulting services with a focus on real-time business and financial services. Prior to this Arvind spent 8.5 years with TIBCO Finance Technology Inc. as it evolved from Teknekron Software Systems. Arvind spent five years in New York deploying cutting edge technology solution at leading securities trading firms and built a profitable business consulting practice. In 1999 Arvind moved to the headquarters in Palo Alto and manage Tibco's EAI line of business in Financial Services worldwide. Arvind has over 15+ years of diverse experience including robotics design, derivatives trading, and integration middleware, and he holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Hawaii, and an M.S. in Engineering from Odessa, Ukraine.

S. Srinivasan - Former Vice-President of Internet Solutions, TIBCO Software Inc.
In his new role post-Tibco, Srini is focusing on his prior expertise in financial systems engineering by providing consulting services to major banks that are launching global e-commerce initiatives. Previously, Srini was Vice President of Internet Solutions for TIBCO Software where his focus was to set the company's Internet strategy and make TIBCO the dominant provider of e-business infrastructure software for Internet marketplaces. Prior to this role, Srini was responsible for building and operating TIBCO.net -- an outsourced Internet data center for many of the largest consumer Finance portals such as Yahoo!, AOL/Netscape, and Altavista. Born in India, Srini received a BSEE from University of Madras, MSCS from University of Texas in Austin, and an MBA from University of California in Berkeley.

Mark Terbeek - Venture Partner, MK Capital
Mark H. Terbeek is a venture partner at MK Capital. Previously, Mr. Terbeek co-founded Jamcracker, Inc., an enterprise software provider, in JuLy 1999 and served as its Vice President of Corporate Development from inception until April of 2002. From May 1995 to July 1999, he was a member of the venture capital team at First Analysis Corporation, an investment firm based in Chicago. At First Analysis, Mr. Terbeek focused on enterprise software and outsourced IT services investments including Exodus Communications, VPNet Technologies and Network Commerce Inc. From August 1993 to May 1995, he was a business analyst at McKinsey & Co., a management consulting firm. Mr. Terbeeka received a B.A. from DePauw University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Todd Terbeek - Executive Vice President, Singlestep Technologies Corp.
Todd leads the sales, marketing and business development efforts for Seattle-based IT infrastructure software and services provider Singlestep Technologies. Previously, Todd led the strategic partnership, fund raising and M&A efforts of Network Commerce, and e-commerce enabling service provider. From 1994-1997, Todd held several positions in sales, marketing and product management for American Greetings. In his last position with American Greetings, he spearheaded the development of the firm's Database Marketing and Strategic Retail Solutions consulting groups. Todd also worked in Global Marketing at Coca-Cola and as an Account Executive in the consumer products division of Burson-Marsteller Public Relations. Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from DePauw University and a MBA from the University of Illinois.

Michael R. Williams - Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, NetSuite, Inc.
Prior to NetSuite, Mike served as Senior Vice President of Exodus Communications (now a part of Cable & Wireless), where he joined the company as employee number 20 and built one of the most successful sales organizations in the high tech industry. During his tenure at Exodus, he grew sales from zero to $300 million in four years, grew the sales organization from 3 sales executives to 175 sales personnel, executed aggressive sales growth plans adding over 2,000 new customers over a four-year period and tripled the average annual revenue per customer. Most recently, Mike served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales at ZANTAZ, the leading provider of compliance technology and electronic discovery solutions, where his strategy and leadership led to the company's rapid growth in its customer base and revenues. Mike served as Regional Sales Director for WorldCom Corporation before joining Exodus. He began his sales career at Cable & Wireless Communications. Mike holds a BBA in International Business, and a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
